My daughter was a teacher at a reservation school. She took me on a tour of the town and it was a disaster. Apparently, there were gangs based on who lived on which side of the main street and they would do everything they could to destroy each other's houses. Broken windows everywhere, even during the winter in Northern Canada. Kids are cold, dirty, tired, and hungry while their parents are busy getting drunk in the fields surrounding the off-reservation town, murdering each other and going to jail. It is heartbreaking. The tribes do not lack for Federal money, but corruption is rife, and I can see how they are just sitting ducks for groups such as cartels.
I appreciate their respective cultures and there is some real wisdom there that we can all benefit from, but this situation is just not working and it is terribly sad to see these people in serious decline. But, it's like you said, Matt, human beings need a purpose and I don't think these people know what their purpose is. Yes, it was a winner/loser situation, but it was and is also a clash of civilizations and now it's happening to us but most of us can't (or won't)see it until it is too late. Our ancestors had the advanced weapons whereas our current adversaries have mind-games, guilt, and our own systems with which to destroy us. Ironic 'ain't it?

I'm from WV, where jobs are rare, and entertainment is even more rare. I'd guess around 80% of the population in McDowell Co, where I'm from, has nothing to do. You can feel the hopelessness and despair in the air, and I think it's because they have nothing to do.

There were plenty of times when Indians traded land and women for horses, guns, and whiskey. Is selling abandoned property the same as stealing and distributing? I think not. This seems like clear cut corruption. No one made her leave it. And she didn't care to look for it until daddy made her.
Depends on the state laws in that area. Sometimes you need to hold that property for a certain period of time or put it in storage for a time before you can dispose of it or sell it. Often you might even need to distribute the proceeds to the property owner after expenses are subtracted.

The police and FBI can legally go through the garbage of a suspect - I have seen them do this during cases on crime videos. The person who picked up the diary, after legally entering the house, could consider this diary to be garbage. Because it had a name on it the diary could be returned, but the owner obviously was not concerned about privacy because she left it where anyone could read it or copy it. I am glad someone thought it a worthy thing to inform the public about the strange behaviour of this President.

Matt shouldn't be worried about any lack of things to do. Did the wheel make it so? Printing press? Combustion engines? Electricity? Incandescent light bulbs? Telecommunications? Internet? Did any of these labor-saving efficient technologies make it so we have nothing to do?

I want you to be right also, but all of the inventions you listed gave modern man so much leisure time, that we've become soft, weak, lazy, self absorbed, and narcissistic. It's why people in many 3rd world countries are not infected by the soul sucking brain worm that's taking over Western Civilization.

Tell that to some McDonals employers that are being replaced by machines that place your order. What about people in the banking, when was the last time you interacted in person with another human for your banking needs?
AI is replacing more and more tasks formerly done by humans and you aren't even aware of because it happens so naturally in front of your eyes.
@@sweetmomster1001I agree with you but the stores me and my family go to sometimes still have people working there so not everything is being automated. But it is scary. Especially the jobs that people can only dream of being taken away. You know, like the high skilled, high wage ones.

The simple fact is that the only reason they take on a case it's because they know that they can't be held responsible for anything until you and act that they wind up either losing their license where they can't practice we're such a period of time and therefore can't make no money doing what they're doing for such a period of time and have to do something else or find something else to do nothing is going to change.
